Solitary Islands Coastal Walk

One of the most stunning coastal walks you will ever enjoy is the Solitary Island Coastal Walk. Enjoy it as a 3.5 – 4 day experience or you might like to break it up into smaller sections. The journey begins in ‘sunny’ Sawtell just 15 minutes’ drive south of Coffs Harbour and ends in Red Rock in the north of the region.

Along the way admire the beautiful coastal scenery, cliff faces, golden sandy beaches, islands, wildlife and attractions. There are a number of ways to make the most of the walk whether you are looking to dine your way along the coast, experience some family attractions or backpack your journey.

Coffs Coast Camel Rides

Whale Watching/Scuba Diving

Is your idea of fun a day out on, or in the water? Then contact Jetty Dive Centre today. Jetty Dive Centre is a PADI 5 Star IDC Centre ideally positioned at the Jetty Strip in Coffs Harbour. Coffs Harbour is the southern gateway to the Solitary Islands Marine Park, a very unique mix of Tropical and Temperate fish life. Take a trip out to sea on their daily Dive charters for snorkelers or SCUBA divers. Together with the large, comfortable Dive boats and the use of modern Scuba hire gear Jetty Dive offer the best diving available.

If you’d much prefer to be on top of the water then join Jetty Dive in their fast and comfortable 12 metre long boat – ‘Wild Fin’. The Migrating Humpback Whales play in the shallow waters off the Coffs Harbour coastline on their travels north and again on their return trip south. The Big Banana Fun Park is the BIGGEST and BEST Fun Park on the Northern NSW coast. Woolgoolga Golf Club

Woolgoolga Golf Club is located at Safety Beach, just 5 minutes north of Woolgoolga. Nestled amongst the native fauna, this golf course at 5,713 metres off the back markers, may not be overly long, but is very challenging and has tight front with plenty of trees, hazards and O/B to negotiate and 9 holes to start your game. You will be greeted by a great number of the local wildlife, in the form of Kangaroos as they laze around throughout the course oblivious to passing golfers. So head on down for a game and finish off with a refreshing drink in the friendly club.

Sherwood Nature Reserve

There’s an abundance of wildlife to see, with old-growth forests and other habitats providing refuge for over 50 native animals including the brush-tailed rock wallaby, long-nosed potoroo, powerful owl, giant barred frog and leaf-tailed gecko. Not to mention the incredible birdlife that makes Sherwood a bird watching mecca.

Go forest driving on Sherwood Forest drive and admire panoramic views of the coastline and Orara Valley. Enjoy peaceful bushwalking and outstanding bird watching in the rainforest on Falls walking track. Patrolled Beaches

The Coffs Harbour coastline stretches over more than 60 kilometres featuring a total of 32 beaches from Bonville in the south to Red Rock in the north.
Below is some information on each patrolled beach within the City:

Park Beach: Park Beach is Coffs Harbour’s main patrolled beach, serviced by Professional Lifeguards and Coffs Harbour Surf Lifesaving Club. Park Beach is patrolled all-year round, Monday – Sunday from 1st July 2013 until 20th September 2013, Monday – Friday from 23rd September until 25th April 2014 & Monday – Sunday from 28th April 2014 until 30th June 2014.

Woolgoolga Beach: Is serviced by Coffs Harbour City Council’s Professional Lifeguards and Woolgoolga Surf Lifesaving Club. Woolgoolga is protected from the South and frequently experiences little to no surf, it is considered the area’s most child-friendly open beach. It is patrolled Monday-Friday while Woolgoolga Surf Life Saving Club patrol weekends and public holidays.

Emerald Beach: Emerald Beach is located approximately 18km north of Coffs Harbour. It is patrolled by Coffs Harbour City Council’s Professional Lifeguards 7-days per week during the Christmas School Holidays.

Corindi Beach: Corindi Beach is a patrolled beach serviced by Coffs Harbour City Council’s Professional Lifeguards 7-days per week during the NSW Christmas School Holidays. Please be aware that this service may vary and it is best to contact the Corindi caravan park.

Red Rock: Red Rock Beach is Coffs Harbour’s northern most patrolled beach. Council lifeguards service Red Rock Beach Monday-Friday during the Christmas School Holidays while Red Rock Surf Life Saving Club patrol weekends and public holidays over the entire surf season.
